“typically gatekeepers of hell” nah get your facts straight The Cerberus was a guardian of hell, but that’s like saying all pegasi are typically born out of Medusa’s severed head. The Pegasus was, but pegasi themselves have come to have their own meaning, species, stories, etc. It’s the same with the concept of cerberi.

Cerberus was the guardian of the underworld, not hell. Hell is a concept of christianic mythology, not greek.

Regardless, the Greek underworld is not hell because of the sections it has. Mortals who are heroes do not go to live on olympus unless they themselves become a god/dess. They go to a section of the underworld called Elysium. Tartarus is the Greek hell.
