It took me far to long to realise my dog could be a vegan too…. I was walking down the aisles at PetSmart and every pet food had meat in it. Deboned chicken or lamb or beef with images of the living creatures these things came from and it brought tears to my eyes. I couldn’t take it anymore, it was all some sort of sick sadistic joke having these creatures images all over the packaging when their flesh was ground up and compressed into kibble within. I couldn’t be apart of the problem anymore and went on a vegan dog food hunt and finally found what I was looking for at Food Fight a small vegan grocery store in Portland. The great thing is that Ginger loves it (clearly) and it honestly smells lovely like wholesome herb biscuits opposed to some nasty rendered spare animal parts mushed together with cornmeal.

HOW MANY TIMES DOES THIS HAVE TO BE REPEATED BEFORE VEGANS WILL GET IT THROUGH THEIR THICK SCULLS. DOGS AND CATS ARE CARNIVORES DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES FEED THEM A VEGAN DIET. DID I SAY IT LOUD ENOUGH TO GET YOU TO UNDERSTAND.

The fuck kind of idiot thinks dogs are meant to live off of “wholesome herb biscuits?” If you want a dog, but refuse to feed your carnivorous animal what it needs, you don’t really love that animal. You love the idea of having that animal. You love the notion of keeping it under your control and slathering your emotional needs on it while making it eat things you think are morally acceptable. You don’t love the truth. You don’t love that dogs aren’t built to forage for berries. You don’t love that wolves don’t graze on wild flowers. You don’t love that your animal is genetically a wolf and still has a face full of fangs to prove it. You don’t love what that animal IS. Only what it can give you.
