I'm really starting to think that the reason people believe stupid things they see on the internet (regardless of proof or citation) is that most of the modern world has an education system that doesn't advocate questioning what you're told. You accept it, memorize it, take a test on it. That's what we call 'learning'.

Plus considering how easy it is to just agree instead of to question something just makes that worse.
