I have an irrational dislike of people in the FR community who use the term ‘gembound’ instead of ‘gembond’. I have no idea why. It somehow manages to tick me off more than people with horrible grammar, no/improper punctuation, and atrocious spelling.

But you still bond/bind a dragon with said gems.
The gene is called Gembond because it sounds more accurate. But it just makes it so the dragon’s growing gems (binding gems to their genetic coding). “Gembonded” dragons doesn’t sound as right as “gembind” genes. Gembond genes sounds (weird) better than “gembind” and gembound dragons sounds better than a Gembonded dragon.
