The familiar (Common Podid) below belongs to Flight Rising.
I wonder, was this a case of extreme ~inspiration?~ Did Undel ask for permission to be so heavily inspired by Mike’s concept art? The face shape and details are exactly the same. The claws and body structure are as well. I wonder how many other familiars have been ‘inspired’ by Corriero’s work, hm?

How did you overlay and it match that well? I see some striking differences in the facial structure when I overlay. Are you skewing the overlay like WOAH just so it’ll fit?
?? If I had actually overlaid it I would have posted the picture. I am saying they are so similar that it looks like you could overlay it. I don’t know how people are denying it looks similar, it looks like a redraw of the exact thing. The ears are higher up and the eyes are a different style. It’s almost like someone redrew it and then a third person did the lines for it without seeing the original… which is very likely what happened seeing as Undel did the lineart and not the sketch for the Podid.
For the record, here is the overlay with absolutely no skewing. It’s actually more damning than I thought it would be. The eye and nose match up perfectly. Even the HANDS match up pretty well.
