This is an artificial beach constructed in the Seagaia resort along the coastal highway outside the city of Miyazaki Japan, fully indoor climate controlled throughout the year. The water is temperature controlled, the sand granules are specially made so that it gives you the feeling of real sand (apparently REAL sand doesn’t feel real enough), but it doesn’t stick to your body as much. In summer, the top dome can be opened to let in natural light on hot days.
