Jellyfish have been found in every ocean, from the surface to the bottom, and even a few fresh water lakes.
They are made up of about 95% water and are one of the few types of animals that are symmetrical. They have no brain, no blood, and no nervous system.
Oh, and did i mention - They are fricken awesome?! Just look at them! wriggling away in the water all over the world!
Correction: They have a nervous cluster located in the bell. We can’t see it with the naked eye(of course), but they do have one. They can also somehow sense when they’re been snagged as seen here.
^one of my followers actually knows shit and sources.
Well that was unexpected.
I am so proud of you <3
iconfirmed . .
when i was in greece there was a beautiful jellyfish. it somehow felt whenever i tried to reach for it, and constantly turned around right towards the banks of tiny fish it wanted to snag and eat.
i doubt a brainless(regarding nervous system) animal could do that.
Jellyfish lack a brain. Nervous cluster basically makes up for it.
