ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?! I’m sorry, but people aren’t going to die from it being 91 degrees F outside. I LIVE IN 110 DEGREES F. Just saying. People will be fine. That is definitely not that hot. 

Fucking hell, I wasn’t going to reblog this again but are you seriously that ignorant not to realise in the UK we are not used to these temperatures and they really can kill people here.

It’s at a point where I don’t care where you’re from but if you can’t respect that not everyone is used to the same temperature as you then don’t comment on our stuff.

For instance: air conditioning is not actually something that most people have in their homes or businesses, neither is it normal to have to remember to carry water, neither is it normal to dress for this heat (I own literally two dresses that I can wear at the moment without feeling like I’m going to pass out - TWO, because there’s never been any point owning more than that and I cannot afford to buy new clothes right now). Neither is it normal to have to worry about whether your baby can physically SURVIVE ten minutes in a car in the midday heat with the windows up, or if your elderly relative can breathe in their own bedroom because the windows don’t open. These are not dangers we are routinely educated about, the general British public would never consider that a hot car could kill a baby, we are NOT taught to think that way. Consider that the VAST majority of the UK almost NEVER experiences temperatures that go much over 20 degrees (68 farenheit), so our medical facilities are not equipped to deal with anything beyond that.

Whilst most healthy people will be fine, babies, the elderly and the already very ill genuinely CAN be endangered by the fact that as a culture we are just not prepared to handle temperature spikes like this. Stuff that might be second nature somewhere like the southern US is totally alien thinking here and our infrastructure DOESN’T operate like it does in countries where temps like this are the everyday. The danger is real and mocking it is fucking gross, get over yourselves.
