First, when it comes to blind OC’s, I have seen plenty around the fan community. I even have a blind one myself. Just go onto deviantart, look up ‘blind pony oc’ and you’re bound to find a few. Trust me, they’re there. And if you say you haven’t seen one, then you just haven’t been looking hard enough.

Secondly, according to the canon, there’s only a handful of ponies who have a relationship with the princesses, and those are the Mane 6, and those closest to them. Eg: the CMC.

Third, to those of you who couldn’t sense my sarcasm about Snow Drop being a great Mary Sue, I’m sorry. I meant a well designed Sue. And also, a Mary Sue isn’t always a character who is perfect, but has too perfect characteristics. For example, being blind, everyone hating her, having a talent that many ponies have, but is the only one noticed by Luna. Other characteristics to spot a Sue: friends with the main characters, living in the same town/city/ship/whatever as the main characters, a romantically tragic backstory, being an orphan, crazy colors, too bland of colors and of course, being a character insert.

Fourth, about Fluffle Puff. Oh dear lord. It’s a freaking pink ball of fluff. Yes, it is cute, and may be a joke, but people in the comments of my first confession called it a ‘Horse God’. It should not be considered an OC. By my using of the word ‘Cardboard’, I mean exactly that. There is no backstory, no personality, no depth. IT IS A BLANK NOTHING OF A CHARACTER.

If any of you would also like to know, I am also the anon who is self conscious about signing up for a local brony convention’s artist alley. Can you understand why I am so critical of myself? Because I have to compete with these overly popular Sue-ish OCs. I’m not hating on the artists, I’m hating on the lack of creativity.

End rant. Now If you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go and continue to work on my unnoticed OC’s, the ones that I put effort into, but are passed up for Snow Drop and Fluffle Puff.

Uh… So this is all because you want people to buy art of your OC?

Like, hang on a second. I need to have a laugh.

You’re basically saying you’re jealous. No one even had to accuse you of this.

People likely wouldn’t buy art of Snowdrop or Flufflepuff. They’re animations (and in Flufflepuff’s case, a comic), not prints. Like, literally the point of making Snowdrop was to make an animation, not an OC. An OC was just the vehicle for the story. (That aside, I did you a favor and bolded every ‘Sue’ accusation that was outright false. Maybe actually watch the animation before you judge it?)

And even if they were prints, when it comes to prints people tend to only buy canon characters. You’re bitching over ‘competition’ you don’t have, when in all honesty, even if they were ’competing’ with you, it wouldn’t even matter much. Ever hear of Blue Ocean Strategy?

Jesus Christ, talk about entitlement.

Even though I helped create Snowdrop, THIS is why I tend to avoid the OC community. There’s so much wanking and so many idiots. No one’s afraid to say anything, you’re free to criticize, but at least grow a few brain cells before attempting to do so.

Remember, anon said they don’t view their art as good. They’re only ranting about it being a mary-sue because they’re jelly of attention people like animators or story writers get and say a thing and get the wrong kind of attention in response.
