***These may not help everyone. But they help me. This is also general information.
When drafting Just wing it. You can pay attention to mistakes when refining a second or third time before inking!
Can't think up a pose? Browse for them. I tend to look for "unusual" poses if I search them up. And by unusual, I mean the "mid run/action pose" kinda deal. If you're not ready for dynamics, just look for simple static poses like sitting, profile standing, or headshots.
Gesture drawings they help familiarize with shape and general proportion. It's nice to use on the fly. Never take longer than a minute to create these. There's a site with exercises for this thing but the poses get boring if you see them over and over. Draw the same pose as many times as you can before switching to a new one.
Foreshortening Use the Coil method, as explained by sycra. Tighter coils are farther away and as much smaller, larger ones tend to be loose and closer to the camera.
Basic "vision" draw from life. You see a thing, you draw it. Taking pictures are okay for future reference, but drawing right then and there work just as good.
Heavy reference after finishing a sketch you base a pose on, match up the photo and the draft and fix any proportional errors you may have. Do not trace this image. Just keep the general shapes in check!
Studies just pick a part and draw it. It can be anything from basic body to eyes. Just make sure you're not doing just drawing one and calling it a study before drawing something else. Draw over and over until you feel like it's good enough!
Colors don't use heavily saturated colors for everything. That kills people. Make sure you cancel bright colors with dull or dark colors. Birds, bugs, fish and amphibians all have great color patterns to reference. They are the true sparklederps of Earth.
Character evolution Don't neglect them! Draw the character over and over! Eventually, the style you use and the character's overall appearance will change and possibly look even better than before! You can see some of the best evolutions with my main OC as a cat, dragon and a neko.
Genitals Don't be afraid of drawing a penis or a vagina. No, I'm not saying to draw porn, but to not be afraid or paranoid of other's thoughts in your work. Just do it. There's nothing wrong with uncensored nudity.
Boobs are made of fat. If you make a muscle ref, do not add muscles there! That'd be awesome to beat the shit out of people with your bare boobies, but nature won't allow it.
Feathered wings look up a lot of bird wing refs and birds in flight. You can see the different types of wings and ways they are used from here. Whichever wing you choose is fine, just make sure that you drew the three basic layers.
I'll stop rambling so I can sleep now.
