People like Alex S. and Archie V. have basically been demonized because they left the brony fanbase and this is how I’m gonna start this little rant. Alex, Archie. I apologize on behalf of the fucking idiots on the internet and in the fan-base. These are a kind of victim of reverse fame…
Ugh, I have to agree with some, disagree on other points.
These are a kind of victim of reverse fame programming, or RFP for short. These are some of the ones I pitty most.
True story, but the real world will always have those few haters. I checked Socialblade and Alex S. and Archie has pretty much no subscribers lost after announcing he isn’t part of the fandom. Me, my brony circle on skype, and every brony I know that knows Alex S. has NEVER, hated Alex for leaving the fandom. Also, refrain from using “Brony musician” and “fame” in the same declarative statement.
Next group of idiots to address in fact is the brony musicians.
You are certainly lucky that I’m not going to be offended by this, but let’s delve into this further.
Most of the large ones seem to have excuses to always avoid calls with people then suddenly you here them talking about, or posting about the Skype calls they’ve been in.
Dear goodness, do musicians have to be obligated to call every single person? And I’m pretty sure that we are allowed to post about skype calls whenever we want, whatever we want.
They pic and choose by how big is your fucking following. I know this! …Alex S only speaks to a handful of people.
Whoa there dude, it’s a skype chat, he’s obliged to talk to his friends. Anyone else should be privileged when talking to a stranger. You seem to be too starstruck with Alex S., which in the last time I saw him, he looks pretty normal to me.
As I recall, these guys aren’t famous. They are ordinary people who got lucky because they were at the right place at the right time. If it weren’t for them, someone else would’ve taken their place. Don’t measure their success with your own. It’s important to remember that, and live your life how it comes.
Sorry you feel like this, but I’m obligated to share this.
This really applies to any sector of the fandom (that has a notable population). So… yay explosive rant time.
To add (with various levels of combustibility) to what Carbon said:
JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE IS “POPULAR” DOESN’T MEAN THEY ARE OBLIGATED TO SPEAK TO EVERY SINGLE PERSON OUT THERE
For FUCK’S SAKE some people who ARE popular because they’re talented are still very much introverted. It’s stressful for them to talk to a lot of people—they prefer to keep their friends close. And that aside: Why the fuck is it suddenly their responsibility to cater to your interests and give you attention.
You’re saying that musicians act like they’re above people and then you fucking treat them as if they are, then get butthurt when they ignore you for treating them as if they’re above everyone else instead of a normal human being. WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU EXPECT TO HAPPEN. Why is it so goddamn important that you talk to Alex S. versus some lesser known musician, or popular artist X over lesser known artist Y? Why is it so important you talk to them at all instead of just talking to a friend?
Stop fucking blaming them for your personal problems, goddamn.
