His eyes were dry as he looked to the ground. How long had he been staring at that one particular patch of light? It was wide, glowing softly and shifting as each minute passed. How many times had it changed? He really didn’t know, that wasn’t good, he couldn’t afford to lose track of time or lose track of himself. After so many years he was liable to lose more than just his focus if he didn’t keep aware.  He blinked, feeling the weariness starting to weigh down on his shoulders, bending his spine, weakening his arms but he still had a task to complete.



A long sigh left him, disturbing the dust that had settled around him, sending it flutter
