Apparently I'm not allowed to talk about this on FR

There’s a Polygon article (http://www.polygon.com/features/2014/3/3/5450006/darren-hill-flight-rising) about Flight Rising, which is quite interesting and contains a lot of information about how FR started, although the focus of the article is on Akiri (Darren Hill) and the car crash that he got into. It got removed for discussing the admin’s personal lives and information. While I totally understand not publishing people’s sensitive information, it seems pretty shady considering that Akiri himself appears to have provided this information.

Speaking of which, what is the sensitive information? Akiri’s day job, his name, the injuries from the car crash? I don’t see an address or social security number in there, and half of the information can be found on the site proper. The rules say nothing about the admin’s personal lives, it speaks about personal information. The rule says “yourself or others”, too- if mentioning his occupation was the issue, am I not allowed to talk about my day job? Am I not allowed to mention the time when I fell and got a concussion and had to stay in the hospital for a day because it’s mentioning the extent of injuries received in an incident? If you’re not allowed to mention the admin’s personal lives, then how come when the Thrage drama came to light, that was not deleted for discussing Thrage’s personal life? After all, believing that transgender people are mutilating themselves is a personal, not a professional, belief, found on Thrage’s personal Facebook, which more than likely contains his personal information such as his day job.

All the same? It’s a pretty interesting article about how FR started. I’d give it a read if you’re interested in site history. As a history fan, the double standard is just irritating.

Probably because Akiri did not want his personal information shared on flight rising? I recall them saying not to share personal information of any kind on the site about other users since it is a potential threat (even if the intent was harmless)
