So let me get this straight…because there was major backlash (which was fully warranted by the way) from the Flight Rising art community for your incredibly rude, unneeded, unwarranted and generally shitty advice to some wonderful artists, the whole backlash only happened because people were not “thick skinned” enough for your A+ opinions? Are you serious right now? 

As an Illustrator I solely live off of my self-promotion and commissions consisting both on and offline in USD. I’ve had so many people tell me my art wasn’t “high quality”, or that no one would ever pay USD for my art pieces and it destroyed me a few years ago. To say something like this to someone is disgusting and i’m so glad you were called out on it.

For every artist/anyone reading this: (Positivity Don’t Worry!)

Don’t let anyone ever tell you that you aren’t good enough, and never ever take it to heart. Your artwork is one of a kind, coming from a one of a kind brain that can dream up the most amazing landscapes, facial expressions, details, and things that haven’t even been created yet. You can make worlds from dust, empires from fire and beings from nothing. You are an artist and I am so proud of you for doing what you love. Now you keep on being you and making your amazing pieces, know that I shall be watching and drooling over the awesomeness from afar! Haven’t tried USD commissions yet? I urge you to try it! I love paying USD for commissions from other artists, more money for food and everything else one may need! Keep on growing in your artistry, I can’t wait to see what you all create!

You need to educate yourself on the commission art world period, and it seems you need to get your pride in check too. It’s not that people need a “thick skin”, it’s that you need to understand that you were wrong and that you should research on a subject before you speak. I’m glad that from now on you will be keeping your negative opinions to yourself, and incredibly glad that people found out about what you think about artists. I hope more people cancel their commissions as it’s a huge disservice to not only how little they are being paid for their work by you, but to also be working for someone who just spoke lowly of some very amazing people, and the entire online artist community. I’d also suggest if you are to commission others in the future, to offer an actual decent amount for their work. I know you have severely lowballed several FR artists for a while and that is not ok.
