Brewing Woes

I wish Flight Rising would put a little more forethought into their features. I hate, hate, HATE how both Baldwin and Swipp require food for recipes.  Food is easy enough to remove from the economy.  We use it to feed our dragons.  Poof.  Check the box, hit convert, it’s gone.  I get using food to make better food.  That’s fair, but we don’t need a billion recipes calling for food.

They made so many changes to how often dragons ate, how much dragons ate, how dragons choose their food and it seems like a nice change would be to stop requiring us to hoard food to make apparel, skins, familiars, etc. with the Trading Post dragons.

What if, instead of Baldwin demanding ears to make earrings (wtf?!), he asks for some of the metal ore, clay pots, relics, or literally ANYTHING ELSE?   Why do we have yet another recipe that needs broken jars?  Why can’t Baldwin’s eyewear require those spectacles?  Or even sand, so we can pretend it’s being melted into glass?

And why do we have to have ALL similar items have nearly identical recipes?  Did anyone really have that many podid claws just laying around to make a set of the new nails when this feature was introduced?  Why can’t one use podid claws, another use bone fragments, another use an ore, another use the arrow heads, etc.?

I had hoped that Baldwin would have helped make a more significant dent in all the crap that piles up in the materials and others, not our ever dwindling food supply.  As a player trying to collect these new brewable items, I find the repeated use of materials kind of annoying.  It seems to also lack creativity and thoughtfulness on the part of the staff.

There’s this thing called gathering turns and coli? Why don’t you use those features???

If you run out of gathering turns, grind the coli for 30 minutes. (Rainsong is great for food grind tbh)
