Ugh, seriously? I get where youre coming from, I do. Police in this country have been allowed to commit many atrocities, and yeah, its unjust. Its fucking horrible. But I’m tired of tumblr’s whole dynamic being that if a portion of a group commits an atrocity, all of that group are scum and horrible, and someone from a currently dubious group doing acts of good is suddenly a bad thing. We get it. Youre mad about the issue. A LOT of people are. But don’t just dismiss human fucking decency and frame it as some kind of manipulation from an abuser. Fuck you and your sweeping generalizations. Yes, i know i’m a cishet white male, fucking fight me, tumblr. It just makes you look bigoted, and my opinion remains valid.
A “good” cop is a cop doing what their job description is. I don’t hear anything about “good” paramedics or “good” fire fighters. Why? Because we don’t have to justify them doing their jobs. Cops are government funded thugs enforcing useless laws so that we pay fines to find more government bullshit

These cops in this article aren’t “just doing their job description.” You clearly didn’t actually click the link. You want to know why you don’t hear anything about good paramedics or good firefighters? Because there isn’t a massive wave of brutality and corruption and racism from people who share their profession for their goodness to contrast with. You know why you do hear about good cops? Because people make statements like “all cops are bad” and only evidence is enough to persuade some people that it isn’t true.
These cops were going beyond their job description to help people in need. If you want to dismiss their kindness and compassion, be my guest. Just know that you’re the one being a bigoted asshole here.
Blind hate is not okay no matter who its aimed at. Cops. Muslims. Women. Black people. Teachers. Stop judging the whole by the actions of a few.
