‘No point or Paypal, but I have this character to offer!’

~I’m really getting very far on this thin tight rope of my patience when it comes to kids who think they can dispense a coin (or in this case a character) and expect me to shoot out art from my ass like a fucking rocket! If you are just now starting to watch me on DA, follow me on instagram,  and decide to note me with this bull shit, I will mark your messages as spam and block your ass. I will not be putting up with it. I’m a human being, I have a face, my name is Amber for god’s sake and I have a life with friends and family, I don’t have to waist my time dealing with you. So please, if you admire an artist, know an artist, or want art from an artist… don’t be a dick! Pay them, it makes them feel like they are worth it and it’s the right thing to do. If you can’t commission an artist because you don’t have money, stop being a lazy ass fucking prick and get up off your butt and work! That’s what I did when i really wanted something!

Just.. the nerve of some people…

Oh I get this a lot. That and people saying “I’m just a kid and disabled with a condition, I don’t have any money” as if that will make me less inclined to say no. 

Best one I got yet was essentially –
“My friend is dying and she loves my character so could you draw my character for them? I have no money but please, it’s her dying wish to have art drawn of my character for her :D” 
(I wish I could find that note but I think I even deleted it for the fact it was so pathetic and insulting, not only to me but people with disabilities.) 

Granted, nothing is worse than declining someone’s request and saying you will only work for payment to have them say “Your work isn’t worth a dime anyway, fuck you you selfish whore!” or something along those lines. 
Like okay, just because you can’t get your way doesn’t mean I’m charging too much – You came to me, remember? I didn’t seek you out to lie, cheat, and haggle just to draw your precious character for you.
Obviously you felt my work was worth your effort to try and get it for free, but the moment I didn’t bend and treated you like everyone else; not special snowflake, you flip your shit and call names and THEN say it’s not worth it? 
Yeah no.

If you can’t pay for something you don’t buy it. I can’t haggle the price of my petrol nor can I ask the store to drop the price of milk just because I don’t have enough to pay for it. 
Just because you can’t afford it doesn’t mean it’s too expensive. Save up for it if you really want it. 
If you can only respect an artist on account of thinking you can get free art from them, but the moment they don’t appease that request you drop all respect for them – They’re not the problem. You are.
