Ummmm?? No.

What gives anyone the right to come into a different country with a different culture and history, and say “No, you don’t eat dogs. They’re cute and adorable and you’re horrible for eating dogs.” That dog farm was someones livelihood.

America claims it loves dogs so much and yet dog shelters are so overpopulated from abandoned dogs that 5500 need to be killed PER DAY. This amounts to approximately 1.2 million per year. GUESS HOW MANY ARE KILLED PER YEAR IN KOREA??? GUESS?? BETWEEN 1.1 AND 1.3 MLLION. YEAH. So both countries end up throwing a shit ton of dogs onto the fire, but the difference is that Korea actually makes good use of the meat that comes off them.

The reasoning behind not eating dogs can be applied to other animals like pigs and yet no one comes into your country to rescue pigs from becoming bacon. If they did you’d get upset because it goes against your culture. Pigs can be kept as pets too, so the only distinction is you decided you liked one more than the other and convinced yourself that made it special. You don’t need to go out and start eating dogs now, but you have to stop shaming people/cultures that do or you’re a hypocrite.

Y’all get so worried about cultural appropriation but when someone ACTUALLY interferes with another culture it’s OK because dogs are cute.

Pretty much what I thought. I’m not a vegetarian but I know stupid shit when I see it. We raise animals for their meat, treat them so badly it’s awful, and then go to other countries, with other cultures, and act like we are the fucking white knight of all animals on earth ?? Start by sweeping in front of your door before trying to “take care” of other people porches ….

Yeah I agree with the commentary on this surprisingly

I’m glad other people had this same reaction

Its funny because animal rights groups kill tons of healthy adoptable dogs on American soil and then turn around and “save” dogs in Korea for the warm fuzzy value.

If the farmer cooperated and was compensated then ok whatever but there’s still some stickiness at work here.
