The other day we had a gentleman come in with a ‘5 year old beardie that he didn’t know why it stopped eating.’. The poor thing was the size of my 6 month old beardie, it was skin and bones and had an impaction the size of a ping pong ball. First thing we asked was if it was on sand, and what do you know, it was. The poor thing was put down because there was nothing we could do to save it with how bad it had gotten.Unfortunately the gentleman was devastated that it couldn’t be saved, but come on, an impaction like this doesn’t happen overnight, I was seething. The next night we had another guy bring in a baby beardie that ‘he could no longer take care of’ it’s back looked like a mountain range and it was in the throws of mbd, another beardie to put down, let’s just say this last weekend was a bad one for me but I used every opportunity to educate those in desperate need. reptiliaherps
This is horrifying… Mind if I save these to use as examples in the future?
It should be a law to have a license for a pet and in order to get the license you must be educated on the animals and pledge to take proper care of your animal.
